Holy Child English Medium School (Co-education) is run and managed by Nadia Tapasili Jati-O-Adibasi Jagaran Samity (A Voluntary Organisation dedicated to Human Resource & Development) registered under West Bengal Society Regd Act. XXVI of 1961 (Regn No S/69726/1991 – 92) & Foreign Contribution (Regularation) Act. 1976, Govt of India (Regn No. 147060052).

Aims & objectives of this school are to prepare boys & girls to be able to understand and speak in English and lay the foundation through the playway method for the formal education that will follow.

Set up

At present the School consists to Lower Nursery, Upper Nursery, Kindergarten (KG), Primary (I to IV).

Secondary (V to X) & Higher Secondary (XI to XII) units to be included shortly.

School calendar

School’s calendar year is from January to December. The school ordinarily works from Monday to Saturday except Sunday. In unavoidable circumstances, classes or examinations may held on Sundays to compensate the wasted normal working days due to rains, natural calamity, disturbances, dislocations and the like.

School’s own calendar consists of holidays and other information regarding teaching & learning for the whole year is published at the very onset of the session.

  1. Dances is a must for every student Minimum attendance is 75% in each academic session.
  2. Unavoidable absence due to illness, bereavement etc must be timely reported to the school stating the anticipated / actual duration of absence, preferably supported by a medical certificate in case of illness.
  3. Children affected by infectious disease or exposed to such diseases in their houses must complete the guarantee period before rejoining school. This should be indicated in the Medical Certificate.
  4. Absence more than one month without any intimation to the school are liable to have their name struck off the school rolls.
  5. In no case a sick student be sent to the school.
Admission and Withdrawal
  1. Selection of candidates is made by a Selection Committee.
    1. Candidates selected for admission may be required to attend an interview alongwith their parents.
    2. Specified date & time will be intimated by Notice Board in due time.
No School leaving certificate will be issued until dues to the school have been paid in full and only on receipt of a written application from the parent or guardian.
Examination and Promotion

Continuous Evaluation of the student’s performances are held in the whole academic session.

There are two session in school’s Academic Calendar, the 1st being from January to June and the 2nd session from July to December. New session starts in Next January. Marks for promotion to higher classes are calculated on the average, including the marks of Half-yearly, Annually and evaluation tests. Every examination is therefore of equal importance.

Generally no re-examination is arranged for the absentees.

No promotion is granted if the candidate fails to secure qualifying marks (50 %) on the average of all tests.

A student must pass in English for being promoted in the next higher class.

Regarding promotions, the decision of the Academic Head is final.

Computer classes are held from Class I onwards are also available in this school.

School Fees
  1. The School fees covers twelve calendar months and may be paid in monthly installments or in advance. No reduction is made for holydays or broken periods. Pupils are liable to charged full fees as long as their names are officially on the rolls. Fees must be paid in cash only to be deposited at the bank stipulated by the school.
  2. Fees are to be paid in advance before 15th of every month. Late fees of Rs 20 per month will be imposed, if fail to Pay in the due date.
  3. Pupils whose fees are due for three months may be debarred from sitting for examination and are liable to have their names struck of the rolls.
  4. Every effort will be made to keep the rate of fees the same throughout the year, but the school authority reserve the right them when and if required.
Correspondence
  • The School’s say to the guardians goes mostly in print or the student’s diary. Guardians may kindly fit circulars with all seriousness and act accordingly.
  • All communication should be addressed to the Principal.
  • Any change of address should be notified immediately.
  • Occasionally meet the Principal to discuss the progress of their wards.
  • Guardian MUST attend the meeting of Parent Teacher.
  • Remarks recorded to the School Dairy / Copies / Marksheets are sent for acknowledgements by the guardians. School’s comments on student’s task, letter and notes whenever given may kindly be looked into carefully and appropriate steps be taken.
  • Guardians are requested to see, their wards are diligent at their home work and lessons. Insist them on neatness and cleanness in their books and personal appearance.
  • Please do not telephone to the School on days when there is heavy rain, suspension of public transport or any other emergence. Classes will continue for those students who are present.
  • In all correspondence kindly mention the pupil’s full Name, Class, Section and Fee Book No.
Rules of the school

Student attending schools are obliged to take part in all school activities. Pupils are reminded to address their teachers and the members of the staff with due respect an politeness. In their way to and from School they are an expected to behave in all polite manner.

Students are responsible for the safe custody of their books and belongings. Each article should be marked with the pupil’s name. No jewellery ornaments is to be worn in the School.

Transpotation

The School have been arranged a school car. The parent / guardian may avail the facility and the book the car. Otherwise travelling to and from School is the responsible of the parents.
